Installing and Using "TeamSpeak3" on Aftermath Unleashed
What is Teamspeak3?
Teamspeak is a tool we use to communicate with each other while playing in the game. It's just like your talking on the telephone.
What does Teamspeak3 require?
- A microphone
- Speakers/Headset
Oh, and the actual software itself: Get it here! Make sure you download the correct 'CLIENT' version that matches your system. (32bit/64bit)
Setting up Teamspeak3 is really easy, connecting to Aftermath Unleashed is even easier!
After you have downloaded and installed Teamspeak, launch the program. You'll see the Teamspeak application.
To begin, make sure your microphone and speaker/headset are plugged in.
Ready? Great!!
For the majority of users, the stock settings will work with no problems. However, we do 'require' visitors to our server to have one small change to their Teamspeak settings:
At the top of the screen, in the menu bar, please find the "Settings" button, and click it.
Next, select the 'Setup Wizzard'
Please take a few seconds to complete the wizzard, it's really easy. However when you get to the "Microphone Settings" screen.
Make sure you've slected "Push to Talk"
Push the 'No Hotkey Assigned' button, and choose a key that is comfortable for you to reach while playing the game. (I'm using the left ALT key) Once set, you'll have to press the chosen key in order to talk. Kind of like the old Walkie-Talkies we used to play with.
Complete the rest of the Wizzard as you see necessary.
And that's all the settings we need to change. Now, how about getting connected to our Teamspeak server.
Connecting to the server is very simple.
1. Click 'Connections'
2. Choose 'Connect'
3. In the 'Address' box put: x4ateamspeak.game-server.cc
4. Verify the 'Port' is set to 9987
5. Your 'Nickname:' Should already be in place.
6. In the 'Server Password:' box put: welcome (lowercase)
Finally, let's add our Teamspeak to your 'Bookmarks' for easy access. First, click on the "Bookmards" button at the top of the menu bar, then select 'Add to Bookmarks'.
Now, simply click on the 'OK' button.
All the information for our Teamspeak3 server is stored for you. So next time you wish to connect, you'll choose 'Bookmarks'
